Our Story
The documentary will explore the South China Sea territorial disputes from a historical perspective. It will examine how a history of nationalism in Asia has affected the current political, social and economic turmoil in the South China Sea.
The story is based on the idea that a sense of nationalism is at the crux of nearly every major event or turning point east Asia has seen over the last century -- including the events currently unfolding in the South China Sea.
The film will explain why the conflict is not so much a new problem as it is a continuation of forces that have been at play for a hundred years, or, in other words, is simply another manifestation of the same issues Asian nations have dealt with time and time again in attempts to salvage national identity.
